The 80s retro vibe is still going strong in modern horror; at last year's Frightfest we had Jakson Stewart's love letter to the era, Beyond the Gates, while this year's nostalgia will be provided by Todd Tucker's The Terror of Hallow's Eve which mixes practical effects and a soundtrack by none other than John Carpenter.

The Terror Of Hallow’s Eve combines mind bending practical effects, 1980s nostalgia and a relatable story with a strong anti-bullying message and will premiere at Horror Channel Frightfest on August 28th, 2017. Guests in attendance for the premiere will be Illusion Industries Inc. founders, Director Todd Tucker (whose special effect makeup work includes Charmed, Watchmen, G.I. Joe Retaliation and Ouija 2) and Producer Ronald L. Halvas.

With a terrifying villain and gruesome practical effects packing in heart-pounding twists and bone chilling frights, The Terror Of Hallow’s Eve stars Caleb Thomas (Highway To Havasu, Statis) in the lead role of Timmy, Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, Inherent Vice), Doug Jones (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy I & II), Juliet Landau (Ed Wood, Buffy The Vampire Slayer), with Christian Kane (Angel, The Librarians), and Sarah Lancaster (Chuck, Everwood).

FrightFest co-director Paul McEvoy says of the film, “The Terror Of Hallow’s Eve is an absolute winner and marks director Todd Tucker as a genre force to be reckoned with. Enormous fun, atmospheric and genuinely terrifying.”

While director Todd Tucker had this to say, “It is an honor to premiere The Terror of Hallow’s Eve at FrightFest in August. Part of this film is based on true events that happened in my childhood, but was made for the fans of 1980’s horror movies. Thanks to everyone at FrightFest for making this possible.”

Growing up is hard and for fifteen-year-old Timmy Stevens it’s no exception. Scrawny and nerdy, he’s relentlessly tormented by the town bullies. His only escape is his love of horror and the creatures he creates.

A chance run-in with his tormentors in a convenience store parking lot on Halloween leaves Timmy brutally beaten. Walking home he stumbles upon a mysterious pumpkin. Despondent from the vicious attack he escapes to his private world and begins carving the pumpkin, wishing for revenge. Unknowingly, Timmy summons the Trickster, an ancient evil, who offers to grant his wish -- scare the bullies to death.
