It was not until A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) that Freddy developed the pattern of delivering funny one-liners before a murder. It was also here that the series began the concept of dreamers being able to enter each other’s dreams and fight Freddy together. The film marked the return of actor Heather Langenkamp as Nancy and features a story by Wes Craven with a screenplay by Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption), directed by Chuck Russell (The Blob). It features early performances from Patricia Arquette and Laurence Fishburn. The soundtrack is blessed with the awesome title track performed by Dokken.

Memorable Freddy Quotes:

Freddy lifts his sweater to reveal a chest filled with faces “The souls of the children give me strength.”

Best Kill:

Freddy turns a sleepwalker into a marionette and pushes him off a tower.
