BOOM! Studios Launches Hellraiser Anthology Title
BOOM! Studios has announced the further expansion of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser with a new anthology-style limited series beginning in August entitled Bestiary. The book will dive into all-new tales of the LeMarchand Device in the style of classics like Tales from the Crypt and Creepy.
Clive Barker is no stranger to BOOM! Studios. He’s been working with the publisher over the past three years to re-imagine Hellraiser, expanding the mythos with a long-form narrative while partnering with some top talent in the industry. This new series will be free of continuity, but promises to be full of shocking consequences.
Bestiary will feature the likes of Ed Brisson and Michael Moreci. The first issue boasts the comic debut of novelist Victor LaValle in which he teams with artist Colin Lorimer to tell a story set on the outskirts of New York City where a close-knit community is torn apart by the presence of a puzzle box. Also included in the premiere issue is the first chapter of a six-part serial by Mark Miller and Bean Meares, drawn by Carlos Magno in which a team of mercenaries are hired to steal Pinhead’s pins.
The first issue of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Bestiary is slated for release on August 20th and will retail for $3.99. It will feature a main cover by Conor Nolan and retailer incentive covers by Kim Herbst and Sam Shearon.
