Archie Comics Expands Horror Line with Sabrina

Horror is clearly an addictive genre based on the amount of zombified stories we've seen pop up in recent years.  Archie Comics joined the fray last year with Afterlife with Archie which went for a serious take on the undead invading Riverdale with great success.  The story actually starts with Jughead turning to Sabrina the Teenage Witch for help after his dog is hit by a car.  She uses the Necronomicon to bring the pet back to life but things go horribly wrong after that.  Archie Comics has announced that the witch will be getting her own ongoing horror series.  The new comic will be written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa who also pens Afterlife with Archie.  It will feature artwork by Robert Hack.

Dubbed Sabrina, the comic is set to debut in October 2014.  Not much else has been revealed outside of some of the covers for the first issue.

The only knowledge I have of the character is from the TV show starring Melissa Joan Hart.  I do, however, love Afterlife with Archie.  It's been a solid book that has taken a serious angle with the zombies attacking Riverdale.  It's not like Marvel Zombies where it's just over-the-top silliness.  This is taking the characters that people have loved for decades and putting them into terrifying situations.  If Sabrina is anything like Afterlife with Archie.  I'm in.
