Domo Meets the Ghostbusters
The Internet is responsible for many things, both good and bad. Everything from Keyboard Cat and Rick Rolls to more porn than you can shake a stick at (or shake something else, I guess). One such case is Domo, which started out as the mascot for Japanese public broadcaster NHK and then turned into a digital sensation. I first saw him in a picture that had him chasing some cats with the caption “Every time you masturbate, God kills a kitten.” Now Domo is ready to take on one of my all time favorite movies, Ghostbusters in a new line of collectibles and plush debuting in fall 2014. This new line was made possible due to an agreement with Sony Pictures Consumer Products, brokered by Big Tent Entertainment.
The line will focus on some of the more eccentric, yet symbolic characters from Ghostbusters such as Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. These seem to be better suited for the big furry Domo than Janine Melnitz. These mash-ups will be cast in recognizable scenes from the film.
Domo has apparently become a cult figure around millennials, but I'm not all that familiar with hit aside from the aforementioned picture about masturbation. I do love the Ghostbusters though so I'm looking forward to what these products will include.
