Extinction Parade Expands to TV and New Comic
Max Brooks is a busy man. Aside from being a New York Times Bestselling Author for this novels such as The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z, he's been writing the zombies vs. vampires comic Extinction Parade published by Avatar Press. After completing the first story arc which will be collected in a trade paperback soon, the publisher has announced some big expansions for the title.
First off, the previously solicited Extinction Parade issues #6 and #7 are canceled. Don't worry though, they're being included in the super-sized first issue of Extinction Parade: War due out in July conveniently coinciding with the release of the first trade paperback. This new title continues the story where it left off in Extinction Parade #5.

That's not all though. Extinction Parade is coming to the small screen as Max Brooks and Avatar Press have announced that Legendary Television and Digital have optioned the comic as an original property for development as a new television series. Brooks is closely tied to the project and will be writing the pilot episode.
“I only brought the idea to one company, Legendary, because they do the kind of quality work of which any writer would be proud." stated Brooks.
Legendary knows a thing or two about good films as they're the folks behind big flicks such as Pacific Rim and the upcoming Godzilla relaunch. I'm interested to see how they develop a TV show, especially after they've been breaking into comics in a big way. Extinction Parade will be joining other horror comic TV shows such as The Walking Dead on AMC and The Strain coming soon on FX. No word yet as to which network this one will be shown though.
