Trailer and Stills for Devil's Knot

In 1994, three teenagers – Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley, Jr., and Jason Baldwin – were (wrongly) convicted of the brutal murders of children Stevie Branch, Christopher Byers, and Michael Moore.

After serving almost two decades in prison (with Echols on death row), the young men were finally released after entering Alford pleas in 2011.

Devil's Knot (based on Mara Leveritt's fantastic book Devil's Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three) is the first non-documentary film that tells this story and hits theaters, VOD and iTunes on May 9th, 2014.

Synopsis:
Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth star in this gripping film based on the true story of the murder of three young boys in West Memphis, Ark. and the murder trial that shocked the nation.

Directed by Atom Egoyan, Devil's Knot stars Reese Witherspoon, Colin Firth, Amy Ryan, Mireille Enos, Stephen Moyer, Alessandro Nivola, and Dane DeHaan.

There have been four documentaries on this case – Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills, Paradise Lost 2: Revelations, Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory, and West of Memphis – and if you haven't seen them all, make it happen right now. This is a fascinating and frustrating case of misjustice. I'm eagerly looking forward to this latest chapter of the West Memphis Three. One thing is missing from this trailer, though; Where the hell is Mark Byers?

He's the puppet master. You don't see him, but he pulls the strings that gets things done. He's the silent partner. He's black ops. If you notice his presence, it's the last thing you'll notice — because now you're dead. He's the shadow you thought you saw in that dark alleyway. You can have a conversation with him, and when you turn around to offer him a cup of coffee, he's already gone.
