Alien Legion Returns with Uncivil War
No matter how many comics I read, I'm always discovering more that I have never heard of but seem really awesome. The latest in this batch is Alien Legion, a book that was originally published in the 1980's via Marvel's Epic Comics imprint created by Carl Potts, Alan Zelenetz, and Frank Cirocco as a sort of Foreign Legion in space. Titan Comics is bringing the series back with a brand new adventure in Alien Legion: Uncivil War beginning in June 2014.
The comic takes place in a galaxy torn apart by civil war. The Alien Legion is a cosmic military force struggling to keep the peace and always ready for war. Within the legion is a unit called Force Nomad, described as “the worst of the worst fashioned on the white-hot forge of battle into the best of the best.” The squad's veterans take off on what should be a simple mission: shepherding refugees fleeing from a civil war within their system. Unfortunately, basic peacekeeping turns into full-scale war.
Alien Legion: Uncivil War brings together some of the creators that worked on the previous series: Chuck Dixon, co-creator Carl Potts, and artist Larry Stroman.
Alien Legion: Uncivil War #1 hits stores on June 25.
