KOCH MEDIA ACQUIRES LIFE AFTER BETH
Just as I was bemoaning the seeming lack of forthcoming horror releases in the UK I get an email from Koch Media announcing their purchase of the UK distribution rights for Life After Beth, Jeff Baena's romantic zombie comedy about a lovestruck romantic whose dead girlfriend comes back from the dead. Read on for the official info.
Koch Media today announces the acquisition of exciting new zombie comedy, Life After Beth. The film features a unique plot and plenty of on-screen talent in the form of Dane DeHaan, nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award this year, and Aubrey Plaza, whose performance in the film caused a stir at Sundance. John C. Reilly (Magnolia), Molly Shannon (Saturday Night Live) and Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air) complete the popular cast, with XYZ handling international sales.
Life After Beth tells the story of Zach (DeHaan), who is devastated by the unexpected death of his girlfriend, Beth (Plaza). When she miraculously comes back to life, Zach takes full advantage of the opportunity to experience all the things he regretted not doing when she was alive. However, the newly returned Beth isn't quite the way he remembered her, and before long, Zach's life takes a turn for the worse.
Life After Beth is set for theatrical release later in 2014, enhancing and diversifying the company's increasingly rich slate, which includes another recent acquisition; horror film Proxy.
We'll keep you posted, watch this space.
