Day Men #3 Release Date Announced
While the first two issues of Day Men have been pretty awesome, they were unfortunately released very far apart. In an effort to combat this, BOOM! Studios has put together some special retailer promotions around the release of the third issue, set for March 5th. The top 50 retailers that order Day Men #3 will receive one free signed copy of each of the upcoming Day Men: Pen & Ink #1, the first in a new line of comics designed to spotlight some of the industry's best creators and their work on BOOM! titles. These retailers will be the first to get an advance look at the Pen & Ink Program.
Day Men: Pen & Ink #1 will feature uncolored line work from the first two issues by artist Brian Stelfreeze. Additionally, the book will include annotations from him and writers Matt Gagnon and Michael Alan Nelson in an oversized 11” x 17” saddle-stitched, prestige presentation. Fancy.
“In our ongoing campaign to thank our top retail partners who continue to support Day Men, we are happy to send them advance copies of Day Men: Pen & Ink #1 to show our gratitude,” said BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief and Day Men creator Matt Gagnon. “We’re blown away by all the support we’ve seen from the retail community and our readers. It’s important to me to make sure that support goes both ways.”
Day Men #3 picks up with the war between rival vampire families in full swing. David Reid's role as a Day Man for the Virgo family comes into question. A game-changing secret is uncovered that can turn the tide of the war, but in whose favor?
As mentioned above, Day Men has been a stellar read so far. I'm glad that BOOM! Studios has confirmed the next issue's release. Granted, it will be a good 3 months after issue #2, but it looks like they have a handle on it. It also seems like they're trying to make it up to the retailers so they won't lose faith in the book.
