Attention film makers and fans of British horror. I’m very excited to tell you that writer James Moran (Severance, Tower Block, Cockneys Vs Zombies) and Matthew Holt (Hollow) will be attending a Q&A today, 26th January, at The Plaza Cinema in Stockport.
The event, hosted by Grimmfest, precedes screenings of their hugely successful titles Tower Block and Hollow, the film described as "the British Blair Witch".
This is an occasion not to be missed. James Moran is a hugely successful screenwriter (having worked on several widely popular movies as well as TV series like Doctor Who, Spooks and Torchwood), while an opportunity to talk to the mind behind Hollow is a great opportunity for anyone interested in the industry.
Further info to the event can be found here: http://grimmfest.com/grimmupnorth/2013/01/towerblock-hollow-26th-jan-plaza/
Date/Time: Saturday 26th January.
James Moran and Matt Holt discuss their work: 5pm – 6.30pm.
Movie double bill starts at 7.30pm. Tickets to the double bill screening will get you into this event for free!
More on TOWER BLOCK and HOLLOW below.
TOWER BLOCK (2013. 90 mins).
One tower block. Fifteen tenants. One sniper.
Someone is picking off the last remaining occupants of a tower block, using a high powered, silenced rifle. Nobody else has heard the shots, and no help is coming. If the terrified victims can’t figure out how to escape, they’re all going to be killed, one by one.
With career-defining performances from Sheridan Smith, Jack O’Connell, Russell Tovey, Kano and Ralph Brown, this fantastically gripping British thriller is a movie not to be missed.
HOLLOW (2013. 90 mins)
This British found-footage horror movie has made real waves on the international film festival circuit and now gets a well deserved UK release on the 28th January. Grimm Up North present this special pre release screening.
Set in a remote village which has been haunted by a local legend for centuries. One day a group of friends decide to explore the folklore, however they are soon presented with grave and terrifying consequences. HOLLOW follows in the fine tradition of British rural horrors like THE WICKERMAN and WAKEWOOD. Written and produced by Manchester based Matt Holt who will be with us to introduce the screening. Screenings finish 10.55pm approx.
