Zane and Brea Grant are returning to IDW Publishing with a new creator owned mini-series entitled Let's Play God. The comic tells the story of Mel as she confronts a mysterious killer that has targeted the members of her all-girl punk rock band. EricJ will be handling the artwork. Let's Play God will be in the style of Italian slasher psycho-horror but with punk rock spirit.

“It’s like Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in the Pacific Northwest... but cooler,” Brea Grant said.

“We’ve given a punk girl who can barely pay her rent the responsibility of stopping a maniac from killing everyone she knows,” Zane Grant said. “It’s terrifying, really. And I wouldn’t be surprised if our readers petitioned the editor to have our creative team committed.”

Let's Play God is a four issue mini-series. The first issue of which is due out in October 2012. Special editions of the comic will include creator signatures. Variant covers for the book will be handled by artists such as Fábio Moon, Tim Seeley, and Dennis Calero.

I'm looking forward to checking this comic out. I see way too many supernatural horror books so it's refreshing to see a genuine slasher comic. The punk rock aspect is just a bonus. Are you ready to play god this October?
