Just in case you're one of the few people that haven't read at least the first few issues of The Walking Dead, Image Comics has your back with the new Compendium One collection. This tome includes the first 48 issues of the series written by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Charlie Adlard, Tony Moore, and Cliff Rathburn.
If you want one of these gold-stamped, limited edition hardcovers, you're going to have to work for it. The first hundred of these bad boys sold in a flash at the Emerald City Comicon back in March. The remaining 900 will be available at the Image Comics / Skybound booth (#2729) at the San Diego Comic Con. You won't be able to just walk up and buy one though. For a chance to purchase one of the Compendiums, you'll need to try your luck with a bowl of tickets. Reach your hand in and if you draw a winning ticket, you'll earn the right to buy one of these books for the low price of $100.
Tickets will be available each day of SDCC so if you don't get one the first day, you can try again later. They're going to keep doing this until all the compendiums are sold. Winning ticket holders can only purchase one book.

If you don't want the hardcover, you can pick up a paperback version at the booth for only $60, but you know the hardcover is going to look so much cooler. The second paperback version of the compendium has recently been announced and will collect issues #49-96.
This is a great deal for anyone that has yet to enter the world of the Walking Dead comics. Unfortunately for me, I already own the first 14 trade paperbacks, so a copy of Compendium One is overkill, but if you're going to be at SDCC, these books are a nice takeaway. Will you be picking up one of these bad boys?
