Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh?

Scarlett Johansson is the most recent addition to the upcoming film Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho. If it follows the book of the same name, the movie will depict the trials and tribulations that Hitchcock went through to get his masterpiece to the public.

Johannson has signed on to portray Janet Leigh and joins an already fantastic cast. Already cast is Anthony Hopkins as Hitchcock, Helen Mirren as Alma, Hitch's wife. Playing the role of Anthony Perkins will be James D'Arcy. (While D'Arcy does bear a striking image to the late Anthony Perkins, I think Oz Perkins would have been far more interesting choice.)

Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho will be directed by Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) with a script penned by Stephen Rebello (author of the book) and John J. McLaughlin (Black Swan) and is slated for a 2013 release.

Having read the novel (and really enjoyed it) and knowing some of the inane bullshit Hitchcock had to deal with, I'm really eager to check this one out.
