Back for its third year, the month long haunted attraction Los Angeles Haunted Hayride has launched the theme “Through the Eyes of a Child,” inviting guests to “Step Into Our Nightmare.” With the unprecedented amount of media and celebrity attendance in previous years, Los Angeles Haunted Hayride has upped the ante with this new program, which will be creepier than ever before.
“We want to bring our guests deeper into the story,” said Melissa Carbone, Executive Producer of Los Angeles Haunted Hayride. “It keeps it fresh for those who have experienced Los Angeles Haunted Hayride in the past and allows new guests plenty of content to catch up on if they so choose. In my opinion, this is our best year yet…by far.”
Taking place at Griffith Park’s Old Zoo, the 2011 Los Angeles Haunted Hayride will take a deeper look into the minds of the Clifton Twins, which past guests may remember as the daughters of Zookeeper Ferdinand Clifton, who were rumored for years to suffer from violent nightmares so uncontrollable they were treated for sleep disorders. Their journals, which documented these ghastly visions, were found in their entirety and the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride has recreated their contents for a NEW 25-minute experience through the woods that leaving guests as prey. The “In-Between” Dark Maze is also NEW this year and dares guests to enter the dark. Not for the faint at heart, this attraction will send scare seekers into a sea of blackness with nothing but their hands in front of them, and a low voltage lantern to guide the group. The demons and maniacs residing in these walls have not seen light in decades. They have mutated to the darkness, which means you can’t see them but they can see you.
Lastly, The Human Menagerie, a sideshow collection of humans will entertain guests while they wait. Along with Black magic, psychics, demonic stilt walkers, games, a pumpkin patch, 2010’s favorite and most unique dark ride “The Scary-Go-Round,” and more – there is plenty of entertainment to keep busy. Guests will be thrilled to learn that all activities in “The Human Menagerie” are included in your ticket excluding food and merchandise
The terror starts on Friday, October 7th, with a special premiere night on October 9th including press, celebrities, and sponsors who will get to experience this year’s all new festivities. October 8th will be the annual Linda Blair (The Exorcist) event that sells out every year. Past celebrity attendees at the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride included Thomas Dekker, Megan Fox, Sarah Hyland, Amber Lancaster, Eva Longoria, Chord Overstreet, Kelly Osbourne, Stephanie Pratt, Michael Rosenbaum, Emmy Rossum and many more.
