For those not in the know, DC Comics, the perpetual second biggest comic book company out there, is going to be relaunching all of their comics next month with new #1 issues. Among the titles getting the restart is Wonder Woman which will be written by Brian Azzarello (100 Bullets). In a recent interview with the Coventry Telegraph, Azzarello says "People need to relax, she's not wearing pants. But it's not going to be a superhero book. I can guarantee you that, it's not a superhero book. It's a horror book."
Wonder Woman is a character that is buried in Greek mythology. With the relaunch, will her stories start getting into the spookier elements of those tales? Hopefully Azzarello can give the book the shot in the arm it's needed for some time with this new start. If his work on 100 Bullets was any indication, he's certainly comfortable in the seedier parts of the world.
Look for Wonder Woman #1 at your local comic shop this September.
