Live Evil Is Coming Your Way!
From Monogram Releasing:

A Vampire Flick that has to be seen to be believed, Starring Tim Thomerson, Mark Hengst, Ken Foree, Lee Perkins, Tiffany Shepis, and Elissa Dowling:

A hunter dressed in black. This cowboy-hat-wearing samurai-sword-wielding Priest is on a quest for blood. Vampire blood. He’s out for revenge on a “clique” of four vampires who are traveling across the country in search of “pure blood.” The human blood stream has become polluted by drugs, alcohol, Aids, Diabetes, anti-depressants, cigarettes; anything that changes the blood even a small amount makes it undrinkable for vampires, who, like hi-performance automobiles, need “hi test” fuel (blood) in order to survive. This has started a sort of underground civil war between various groups of vampires, and vampires themselves have mutated due to the pollution of their life blood. Live Evil is what is written on playing cards left behind on the bodies of dead vampires that this mysterious Priest/Hunter leaves in his wake as he gets closer and closer to our main group of vampires. He’s out for revenge, and the real reason for this is not revealed until the very end. He’s as cold-blooded or more than the vampire he seeks, because he has to be.

The leader of the vampires is Benedict. The “oldest” of the group, he’s seen the rise and fall of the vampires and is out to protect his small family. He’s also in love with one of the two females in his group, Sydney. Sydney is a sexy but equally ravenous vampire who is becoming more and more out of control. Yael is the youngest of the group and the most enthusiastic and inexperienced; her recklessness could threaten the group’s existence. Also part of the group is the acerbic Baxter, an Irish former silent movie star, who became a vampire in order to stay young forever, only to have his career ruined when sound films came in. His bitterness and Yael’s young enthusiasm create more tension for Benedict to try to control. This clique is constantly trying to find pure bloods for food and also on the run from The Priest, who gets closer and closer to them with every mile as they travel to Los Angeles to find a Blood Dealer, Max, a man who “pushes” blood stolen from hospitals to vampire clients.

In a wild opening sequence car chase, the Priest’s car flips over and his right leg is injured so severely that he must hijack a ride from Roxy, a tough woman who doesn’t know if the Priest is just insane or if there really are vampires. As the two grudging companions get to know each other, The Priest learns that Roxy is a “pure blood” and realizes that he must do more than just seek revenge, he must not care for another human being for the first time in his life. Neither vampires nor the vampire hunting Priest take prisoners in this increasingly frenzied cat and mouse game. It’s a bloody trail of bodies, both human and vampires, that climaxes in an abandoned church in the barren desert.

Monogram Releasing is sending Live Evil out on a limited theatrical release on 300 screens in select markets starting Friday, September 18th, 2009. This will be followed by a DVD release on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 along with a VOD release that same day.

The Enemy - It's Flesh Eating for Young Adults!
What would it be like to have the run of London with no adults around? You could live where you wanted, go where you wanted, do what you wanted... Just don't get caught or you'll be eaten.

Puffin Books is proud to announce a major Autumn release with the return of Charlie Higson - author of the phenomenally successful Young Bond books - and a gruesome, action adventure series.

The Enemy is the first title in a chilling series of books which will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. It is set in an eerie, modern-day London after a mystery illness attacks everyone over the age of fourteen. Those afflicted either die or become so crazed by disease they are little more than wild animals. Gangs of kids are left to fend for themselves, dodging the zombie adults who remain.

The Enemy opens with a North London gang of kids who have set up camp in a supermarket on the Holloway Road. The gang, lead by Arran and Maxie, have made Waitrose their home. But supplies are getting short and attacks from the grown-ups more frequent.

With numbers dwindling and little to lose, the gang is forced to leave camp and embark on an epic journey to find a better life. What they discover is a terrifyingly changed London full of horrors that include underground cannibals, rabid animals and a City filled with the rotting souls of bankers. The landmarks of London suddenly hold more interest for the kids, as they search for a safe haven. Along the way, they encounter other kids who, far from being on their side, have their own ideas on the best way to survive...

Charlie Higson says about his new series, 'Having spent five years writing straight thrillers for kids I was tempted to try another genre. I wanted to see if I could write something frightening. I thought I owed it to the children of Britain to scare the living daylights out of them. We all need to be scared. It's good for the soul. And kids need to be scared as much as adults. We all grew up with fairy tales. I don't remember any fairies in them, but I do remember child-eating ogres, child-eating witches, child-eating stepmothers, and plucky little guys getting their revenge, be they Hansel and Gretel or Jack The Giant Killer.'

The Enemy is full of unexpected twists, peril, breathless adventure and a world of unimaginable horror. It is not only a fantastic children's adventure story, but also an unforgettable portrait of a world where the adults aren't there to look after you, instead...they want to eat you.

The Enemy will be published in hardback by Puffin Books on 3rd September 2009 at £12.99

Be sure to check out The Enemy's official site to for a glimpse at its trailer and to sign up for updates!

Colin - The micro-budget zombie movie that's a big hit at Cannes.
Good news has travelled fast as low-budget indie zombie movie, Colin, has caught the eye of several distributors at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Shot on a budget that would barely buy a glass of Moet at the glitzy bash, Colin has got two Japanese distributors interested in releasing the film in a dubbed version for their domestic market.

At a festival that opened with the new $75 million offering from Disney/Pixar, it is perhaps surprising that this micro-budgeted film has piqued the interest of distributors. Director Marc price told UK newspaper The Daily Mail, "'I'd love to have a UK or US distribution deal. I just want people to see it. I wouldn't want the film to be picked up and end up just sitting on a shelf."
