What you've got and what you play
Re: What you've got and what you play
Picked up the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection (Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection). Sadly there is no online mode. Playing stuff like Streets of Rage and Golden Axe online would've rocked. Also new is Street Fighter IV. It offers an awesome netcode, that makes online matches nearly as enjoyable as offline rounds. SSF2THDR's netcode is still a bit smoother though.

Two new games for the 360:
ShellShock 2: Blood Trails
It was mostly panned by critics (Metacritic 32), but the trailer sparked my interest. So when I saw it for 11€ I picked it up. If you like FPS and survival horror games, and Vietnam war plus zombies sounds good then get this game. It's well worth a couple of $'s, €'s or £'s, even with it's slightly sluggish controls and mediocre graphics, because it succeds in creating a truly unsettling atmosphere.
Prince of Persia
Not since Outcast have I seen a game with such a beautiful environment. Everything looks like an animated painting. Cellshading at it's best. Highly recommended!

Got a wii. Only playing one game though. "Madworld". Awesome game with loads of violence.
Any game where you can impale an opponent through the face with a road sign is orgasmic.
"Ow" is not an acceptable kiai in this dojo, Mr. LaRusso.

I am waiting for the price to drop on this... then I will rehook up my Wii.

Fallout 3
Epic. I will be busy with this for quite some time.
Golden Axe - Beast Rider
Brutal learning curve, but rewarding.

I didn't like the combat model one inch, so I ditched the game.

After Mass Effect's combat model, I'm reluctant to accept those half-turn based, half-whatever models.

I have both the PS3 and the XBOX 360.
I generally only play "Battlefield: Bad Company."
I tried to play "Left4Dead" but I get angry because no one will look at me when I'm talking to try and set up defenses.

Maybe you should finally approve my friend request on PSN?

I really dig Fallout's V.A.T.S. system. Since your actions in V.A.T.S. are limited by action points, you need to plan your investments. You also need to set up secondary weaponry in case you run out of action points, and your opponent is still standing. Most weapons that kick ass in V.A.T.S. are not so useful in real-time and vice versa. Imho a far better solution than just stat enhanced FPS gameplay.

You should try the new Last Stand mode. There is nowhere to go, so people should be more interested in setting up defenses.

Got Burnout Paradise and some MS points for my birthday. Burnout is fun for short instances. I don't really like to drive non-licensed cars, but the Über-detailed vehicle damage makes up for that. It's just satisfying to push some made up spaghetti rocket into oncoming traffic with a monster truck. The points where spent on some more Fallout 3 DLC (The Pitt and Broken Steel), and Outrun - Online Arcade, which is a nice update to an arcade legend.
