I'm watching Pontypool right now on Netflix. I'm about half way through. Two thoughts strike me:

A) This movie pretty much rocks. I'm not done, so maybe it ends up sucking, but you should watch this today.

B) Dude thinks he's LFH. He's no LFH.

C) Look out for U-Boats and missing cats.

The movie is awesome...until the ending.

They totally pussied on the ending.

(No joke, I hated the fucking ending. The rest of the movie rocked, though.)

Here's what I said 2 years ago:

It's a pretty good execution of an interesting story, but man did they fuck up the ending. It wasn't necessarily bad, it was just so damn weak.

Okay, now that I had a split second to think about, the ending was bad. The ending sucked.

Glad I didn't drop the money on this on blu-ray, like I had originally planned, and instead got it on a 3 for $20 deal at Blockbuster.

That's too bad, because so far this is getting more and more intense. The girl slamming herself into the booth is crazy. Fake LFH is doing pretty good too, and I hate him on Haven.

Okay, finished it. I never read the story, I think I'd like to now. I wasn't that disappointed in the ending. It was kind of what needed to happen in this type of movie.

What were you hoping would happen? I can totally see your disappointment, and it was kind of a cheat. It was the kind of ending a movie like that is going to have though. And it's a Canadian movie, it's going to have a cheat ending, that's just how it is.

I honestly don't know. I think I was just pissed because everything was so damn compelling up to that last moment and then it was all:

That is just fucking Lazy (with a capital L). It's the character that is only placed in a film or book for exposition because you aren't a strong enough writer to do anything otherwise.

Yeah, that's a real good point. I can't argue with it. But I think bombing the town is a reasonable response with what was happening.

Here's the pisser, I agree with you.

But I think I expected more because everything up to that point was well done. It was interesting and novel (for me, at that time). Then BAM, movie's over.

Rumor has been for awhile that there is a sequel coming some time. I'd be curious to see how they did it.
