Anyone see Trick 'r Treat?

Postby damnationdoormat » Fri Oct 16, 2009 9:45 pm

I must say I honestly completely avoided ANY reviews for the past several years and I didn't even know any of the plot details, but it's the best horror anthology by far since Creepshow. It's a horror film that reminds you just how good horror can be when given room to breath and not rehashed from old ideas. The whole thing also manages to capture the spirit of Halloween excellently. Watched it four times since last Wednesday, there's an excitement when watching that I haven't felt from a new horror outing in a long time and I think it might have the chops to become known as a classic in the long run. Made like four or five entries about it on my blog.

I haven't seen it yet, but really want to. I'm waiting for that price to drop some before I pick it up.

Oh, and congrats on Stallone's company contacting you to clarify something. You keep a pretty damn good blog over there and I'm glad you are getting some good recognition for it.

Just kidding. I saw it at FFF this year and really enjoyed it.

It's 14.99 at Amazon right now. That's not a bad price. I think I am going to order it. I need me some Paquin, pronto.

Thanks! I'm surprised that it's getting around as much as it has recently!

Also that at Wal Mart and Best Buy (at least it was in the case of BB), the Blu-ray is $30, but has a commentary, making-of, and deleted scenes the DVD version lacks.

I've been wondering for a while who that little action figure was. I've got to check this out...

I just noticed last night that this was available for download through XBox 360, so I might check it out that way.

I dug it a lot. We cranked it up loud and enjoyed it with a damn good bottle of wine; great little flick and beautifully shot.

Definitely agree with that. There was some stellar set design, too.

I watched this again today. It really is a good anthology piece.

I hope it's a lot better than Trick or Treats (1982).

said it before, and will say it again. gorgeous movie to look at, but disappointing in the overall content, is nowhere near as good or as scary as people make it out to be.

I really agree with this.

I enjoy the film, I'll make it part of my Halloween rotation, but it does have a little too much hype surrounding it.

If the kid hadn't taken off his mask, I probably would have liked it more.
