Not really a purchase, but I got "Dead Silence: Unrated" on DVD for Christmas.

I highly doubt it. That is obviously a pic circa mid 80's of a video store shelf.

Thanks! That's sorta what I was shooting for. :D

Seriously, DDM, that is NOT your actual video collection...

Is it? :what:

I've been picking up BRs to replace DVDs lately, so I haven't bought anything "new" in that sense, horror or otherwise.

Nothing wrong with buying VHS. The amount of movies not on DVD yet is phenomenal.

But he's buying movies that have been released on DVD. And he's not just buying VHS, he's buying Beta too.

My Bloody Valentine - Special Edition

New DVD doesn't look as good as the old DVD (zoomed in too)...though the new DVD is uncut.

Thanks for that comparison, DDM.

It's great they included the unrated cut (finally!), but it's really upsetting they messed with the picture quality.

I assume it's because they don't want the ugly new footage to stick out as much.

No problem, the new SE definitely isn't bad, the uncut footage is quite substantial, but I was surprised the new transfer is so dim, drab (even greenish?!?), and cropped on all four sides compared to the old disc.

Picked up Saw 5 yesterday (the cool spinning blade CE with sound), I liked it a lot more than I expected to, much better than the stumbling Part 4.
