Fourth of July horror films?

Postby Alien Redrum » Wed Jun 30, 2010 2:30 pm

With the holiday just around the corner, what are some horror films that take place on or very close to the 4th of July?

Jaws
Uncle Sam

Does Silver Bullet have a 4th of July scene?

I guess posting a message on a forum and waiting hours for an answer is a lot better than using Google.

The Shining. Can you figure out why?

I don't think it took place during the 4th of July, but in Final Destination 3, there's an extended scene at a town tricentennial complete with flags and fireworks where a couple people meet grisly ends.

Doesn't It have a 4th of July scene? Or am I thinking of The Sandlot?

FUCK. Yes, but I don't know right now. But when you tell me I'm going to be mad at you because I will be displacing my anger because I'm really mad at myself.

I can't remember. I want to say the Sandlot, but it's been forever since I've seen either.

I don't think It has a 4th of July scene. I don't think it has anything to do with the 4th, and doesn't take place in the summer. If I remember correctly, It takes place during the school year. The little boy gets killed floating his boat during the fall rains, and the kids all meet up after school is over for the day.

Have you figured out The Shining yet, AR?

I'm going to take two guesses.

1. (Book related) Is it when Jack got drunk and broke Danny's arm?
2. Is it when Jack went to the interview for the job at the Overlook?

I never read the book, so I don't know about that guess. Answer below....

Spoiler:
The photo at the end of the movie that shows Jack Torrance with the rest of the dead folks was taken July 4th, 1921.
