Halloween 2012 Movie Challenge.

Because Sham hasn't posted this yet, I'm going do it for him by copying and pasting last year's post.

It's that time of year again, folks!

The goal is to watch as many horror movies as you can during the month of October. If you're unsure what qualifies:

The IMDB and allmovie are good sources to determine its potential horror movie status. However, both sites have been known to make the occasional error and if you feel that's the case, asking in the discussion thread is advised. Everything from horror-comedies, sci-fi horror, wretchedly bad horror, kiddie horror, creature features, erotic horror, Masters of Horror (yesssss, they're still considered movies) silents, made-for-TV movies, etc. will count. Mini-series count as one despite the running time. LEGITIMATE STAND-ALONE DOCUMENTARIES ONLY. NO FLUFF - That refers to featurettes produced exclusively for the film's disc as supplemental material. For example, don't try and pass off the featurettes, interviews, making of and the like as part of your list. TV SHOWS DO NOT COUNT (exception being those used as wild cards).

DON'T VIEW THE SAME FILM MORE THAN ONCE! Remakes are the exception to the rule. In other words, don't watch the theatrical version of "The Exorcist" after already having viewed "The Exorcist: The Version You've Never Seen" and vice versa. The same holds true for all versions: director's cuts, unrated editions, colorized versions, fan edits, extended editions, "the version you supposedly couldn't see in a theater", etc. This is simply to encourage diversity and isn't set in stone.

So basically toss a placeholder in here and update the list as the month goes on beginning October 1. Of course, we're not giving out prizes or anything for whomever watches the most. The main goal is to have fun!

I just checked. Netflix is streaming it. I watched it on Showtime. You will hate everything about it I think.

01 October - Some Guy Who Kills People ***
Not really sure why this is getting the hype, because it's just OK as far as I'm concerned. Kinda like a less hipster version of Juno with an added serial killer.

06 October - Werewolf: The Beast Among Us ***
Universal trots out another werewolf movie. This time it's a cheapy made in Romania with some extreme anachronisms.

19 October - Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter ***
Not as absolutely terrible as I'd been lead to believe. Fun popcorn flick.
