I liked the movie, but then I hadn't read the book yet. Still reading it, BTW. Slow going, haven't been able to read it as much as I'd like. The movie's definitely worth a watch, but really kind of reminds you that Matheson pretty much rips off and gorifies Jackson's Haunting of Hill House. Roddy McDowell was a great Fischer, I thought.

I finished the book yesterday. I definitely kept thinking of Haunting of Hill House in my head the whole time I was reading it. I enjoyed the book a lot and found it to be a quick read. Moving on to an old favorite of mine, Drawing Blood by Poppy Z Brite.

I finished Hell House today. I liked it a lot, up until the ending(s) anyways. I still liked it and would reccomend it, but it drove me crazy when they kept going back into the house.

Started reading Psycho by Robert Bloch. Excellent so far. Everything is just about given away in the first few pages if you know the story already, but if you've never read it or seen the movie then I can see how you'd be fooled. I can see why Hitchcock was attracted to it for a movie. Also, I have to give better props to Pscho IV, because a lot of the lame-assed Henry Thomas flashbacks are kind of in the book.

Psycho is fast becoming one of my favorite books, mainly because of this part:

He could fall in love with a girl like that. Yes, he could, after just seeing her a single time. It was nothing to laugh at. But she'd laugh, probably. That's the way girls were - they always laughed. Because they were bitches.

My (future) brother-in-law just got into reading again, and that was actually the book I recommended for him. He finished it about a week ago.

Currently reading Cujo by Stephen King. On the part where:

Donna and Tad have just become trapped in the car, and Donna convinces herself that the mail man will save them.

Great book so far. Much better than Carrie.

I should finish Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut today. Good book and Vonnegut does a great job of making me absolutely loathe certain characters.

Really good book. I'm glad Blatty was so involved in the making of the movie, as the movie is a fantastic adaptation of the book.

One of the very few book --> movie adaptations that's actually pretty good.

I prefer Carrie more, but Cujo was quite good. The movie was good, too, if you don't compare it to the book. If you do, then the movie sucks.

I like how Cujo always complained about the bees in his head.

I read that anthology about 3 months ago, so I did read it. Which story was it?

The first or second story about the dude that goes to the party and meets the girl. But about the entire time is spent in his head where he's thinking about art, his sister, the picture in the trunk of his car that he can't get rid of, soap, scented soap, how he hates scented soap (amongst other things he hates).

It's funny.
