Re: What are you reading?
Just started The Bourne Identity. If I like it, and if the author is lucky, I will read the whole series.

Are you picturing him as Matt Damon?

I finished Wolves of the Calla today. The Dr. Doom robots that fight with light sabers and throw Phantasm balls called Harry Potter Sneetches were crazy, but when they find the copy of Salem's Lot, it blew my mind.

I had to cleanse myself of Swan's Song, so went for the non-supernatural, apocalyptic novel Alas, Babylon. I'd definitely reccomend it.

This book kind of sucks. It's too wordy. The movie is better.

Is that available at that library?

Finished Zeroville. One of the best books I've read in a long time.

Yes, it should be. It's got some issues, in about 3 places it repeats itself for a couple of pages, but as long as you keep reading you figure it out and it's not a problem. It's like someone did a poor copy and paste job, but all the info is there. It's by Pat Frank.

I tried reading one of Ludlum's books and thought the same thing. It was way too boring. The movies are better.

I gave up on The Bourne Identity. Lame.
In the mean time, I've started going through my Dorchester Publications score. First I read Brian Keene's Urban Gothic (thoughts here -- bottom line it was fun, but rushed and the editing was a bit weak).
I'm *this* close to finishing:

Neon and Spez, you guys would like this, I think. Once I'm finished, I'll go into more detail.
After that's done, I think I'll start Gary Braunbeck's Mr. Hands.
Braunbeck hasn't failed to disappoint me yet, and I just love that title.

I'm in the middle of Mr. Hands, and fuck it's good. Great, even. Braunbeck has yet to disappoint me.
Eric, when you see this next year, give it a go. I'm pretty sure you'd dig it.

I started up The Last Match from Hard Case Crime. It's not a poorly written book so far (about 1/3 of the way through it). It's just not all that interesting yet. Plus the author (the guy that wrote To Catch a Thief) keeps tossing in all these French words which pisses me off. Not because I'm American and the book should be written in English, but because it feels like he's just putting them out there because he can.

Whatshisface did that in the Bourne book, so I know exactly what you mean.
