DEADLANDS 2 Picked up by ANTHEM PICTURES UPDATED 9/1//09

LA based Anthem Pictures aka ANTHEM Digital has acquired the North American Distribution Rights for Deadlands 2: Trapped. The DVD release date is set for October 27th 2009.

Been a while since an update... well here comes a big one.

The first draft of the official DVD artwork is now available to look at. Ignore the spelling errors. This artwork will have tweaks done to it before being considered final.

The UNRATED CUT and Work Print Version
Directors commentary
Weapons and Tactics featurette
Cast & CRew Interviews
2.0 Dolby Digital Stereo
2.35:1 aspect ratio.

Also as a rarity... Deadlands 2 will be pressed in limited Edition versions of HD DVD. You ask why I bet? Well, believe it or not many HD DVD players and owners still clamor for content, so when approached and asked if this $6,000.00 indie zombie flick were to be released on this format would you buy it? After presenting all the specs and other info, the hard core HD DVD fans answered a very loud yes.

Anthem Pictures will produce and distribute 500 limited Edition copies of the film in this format. 60% are already sold via pre-orders that began last week.

The HD DVD version will include

UNRATED, WORK PRINT, and a Third Cut of the film (all 2.35:1) all re-mastered for 1920x1080 HD
5.1 Lossless PCM surround
5.1 Dolby Digital
2.0 Dolby Digital
"No Money and a Camera" a documentary about indie filmmaking (28 Minutes)
"Another INdie Film Discussion" More talk about making indie/microbudgeted films

For those curious about whether or not the film will hit Blu-Ray... At this time no, but maybe in 2010 a Blu-Ray release will come around.

Deadlands 2 streets October 27th 2009 from Anthem Pictures, on that same day Bill Mosely zombie flick Dead Air hits streets as well from Anthem.

So in essence you will be getting two version for the price of one. The work print version is the version AR reviewed. Most of the more recent horror site reviews have been the final edit, except no one has seen the new ending yet.
