Machette Maidens Unleashed
Check out Machette Maidens Unleashed
"WHAT director Mark Hartley did for unloved Australian exploitation films of the 1970s in Not Quite Hollywood he will now do for Filipino cinema. Machete Maidens Unleashed is a feature documentary that explores fi lmmaking in the Philippines during the Marcos era, when miniature James Bonds, karatekicking soul sisters, snake-loving babes, anorexic Rambos and gun-toting nuns were the rage.
The country also served as a “reluctant” backlot for filmmakers from Roger Corman to Peter Weir. Co-funded by the Melbourne International Film Festival, it is due to premiere next year, along with psychological thriller Blame, Kin,Matching Jack (formerly known as Love & Mortar) and Ben Lee: Catch My Disease"
It should be out this year

No thoughts on this?
I can't wait to get home to find a trailer.

I m totally looking forward to seeing this,
I want to know how long it is as I keep hearing different times.
Also I wonder if there's going to be an appearance by Batman in it

There's a trailer out there. I dug it enough to be excited for it but it doesn't get me pumped the way that the trailer for Not Quite Hollywood did. Maybe it has something to do with the film clips looking too similar or there not being as much energy from interviewees.
Regardless, I have faith that Hartley will create another genuine look into a side of exploitation cinema that has yet to be given the treatment it deserves.
And I'm STILL waiting for a lot of those films in Not Quite Hollywood to get decent DVD/blu-ray releases

Sounds interesting. Philippines gave us some wicked strange stuff. My personal favourite is Weng Weng:
I don't want to be beheaded on the internet.
